PC Filament – Polymaker PolyMax PC
Polycarbonate filament or PC filament is a very hard plastic and is used in a wide range of applications due to its material properties. PC filament is particularly widespread in the automotive industry.
In addition to its mechanical properties, the polycarbonate filament scores points for its high temperature resistance and dimensional stability, even at temperatures above 100 °C. At the same time, the PC material is difficult to ignite. Compared to conventional glass, polycarbonate filament has a lower density and significantly higher impact resistance, which is why it is also used in the manufacture of safety glass.
However, it should be noted that PC filament is highly susceptible to moisture absorption, making the use of a dryer essential for the production of quality parts. The PC material also tends to warp.
